BaySand Inc., a supplier of ASIC/IP platforms, today announced the immediate availability of Triple Speed Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet XAUI controllers, as well as PHY IPs as part of its mcFPGA/mcASIC families. BaySand’s Triple Speed Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet XAUI IPs provide a complete interface IP solution for applications requiring mid to high bandwidth, optimal signal reliability, ease of use, maximum interoperability and reprogrammability across devices using BaySand’s proprietary MCSC technology.

The IP solutions support Triple Speed Ethernet operating at 10/100/1000Mbps and XAUI operating at 10Gbps. The Triple Speed Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet controller IPs are available as soft core for the controllers, while the PHYs are provided as hardened IPs for a range of floorplan configurations and able to support multiple lanes. Both IPs can be instantiated in mcFPGA/mcASIC family devices directly, and each controller or PHY IP can be licensed individually. The Triple Speed Ethernet PHY includes a GMII interface and the XAUI PHY includes a XGMII interface which are both compliance with the IEEE802.3ae MAC specification. The controller IPs support either native interface or FIFO interface for ease of integration with customer logic. The controller IPs also includes an optional AMBA© AXI DMA engine. With the combined offering of both the controller and PHY IP, BaySand helps to significantly lower integration risk for customers requiring first silicon success.
